Formnext 2027: Dates and Venue

How big is Formnext?

According to the organiser's figures for 2025, Formnext had 804 exhibitors and 38,282 visitors on 49,400 square metres, with 61% of exhibitors and 47% of visitors coming from abroad. The VDMA Working Group Additive Manufacturing is its honorary sponsor. The exhibitor count is modest next to general industry fairs, yet a large part of the sector meets in these halls.

Which groups on the list matter to you?

Service bureaus are customers for post-processing, heat treatment, machining and inspection. Materials producers and distributors of metal powders and polymers are partners or competitors depending on your position. Machine makers look for resellers and application partners in markets where they have none.

For a UK supplier with aerospace or medical approvals, the list shows which bureaus and OEMs work in the same certified environment, which narrows the field quickly.

How should you prepare for November?

Place meeting requests between late September and mid October. First conversations in this industry tend to centre on a test part, so bring material lists, tolerances, inspection equipment and quality certificates such as AS9100 or ISO 13485. For German exhibitors, marketing email requires prior consent under § 7 UWG; LinkedIn, a phone call or a stand visit is the dependable opening. A quotation for a trial part sent within two weeks of the fair turns interest into work.
