SPS - Smart Production Solutions 2027: Dates and Venue

What do the 2025 figures say?

According to the organiser's final analysis, SPS 2025 had 1,175 exhibitors and 55,938 visitors on 122,000 square metres. 44% of exhibitors came from abroad, but only 29% of visitors did. China accounted for 38% and Italy for 12% of international exhibitors, with the UK at 3%.

Where does an international supplier fit?

Most exhibitors are either component brands or the integrators and machine builders that turn components into systems. A UK automation company might look for German, Austrian and Swiss distributors; a contract manufacturer of control cabinets, cable assemblies or machined parts might look for machine builders seeking a second source. Seeing which product groups dominate a hall helps you choose where to spend the three days.

How do you make three days count?

SPS runs for three days only, and unplanned visits rarely produce meetings with the right engineer. Send requests between mid October and early November, and bring certifications, test capability and reference projects; German automation buyers read technical detail before sales material. Marketing email to German businesses requires prior consent under § 7 UWG, so phone purchasing, connect on LinkedIn or arrange a stand visit instead.

The fair ends a few weeks before the Christmas break, so follow-up is best completed within two weeks.
