An agriculture trade fair exhibitor list shows makers of farm machinery, livestock equipment, seed and fertiliser side by side. The key to finding customers at these fairs is the dealer network: manufacturers mostly reach farmers through dealers and distributors. Splitting the list by product group and timing it to the farming season decides the result.
Who exhibits at agriculture and livestock fairs?
- Farm machinery
- Tractors, cultivation, drilling, fertiliser spreading, spraying and harvesting machinery, plus spare parts.
- Livestock equipment
- Milking systems, cattle and poultry housing, feeding, ventilation, animal health and feed additives.
- Seed and plants
- Plant breeders, young plant producers and seed distributors.
- Fertiliser and crop protection
- Mineral and organic fertiliser, biostimulant and crop protection producers.
- Greenhouse and irrigation
- Greenhouse construction, drip irrigation, climate control and automation firms.
- Dealers and distributors
- Firms that sell to farmers in a region and provide service and parts. Some exhibit; most visit.
The last point matters. Some dealers exhibit, but most walk the manufacturers' stands. Remember that manufacturers with a dealer network in a country are customers too: for a parts or component supplier they are the main target.
Which agriculture and livestock fairs stand out?
- Agritechnica: the world fair for agricultural machinery, held by the German Agricultural Society (DLG) in Hanover every two years, in odd years.
- EuroTier: the world fair for livestock farming, also DLG and Hanover, alternating with Agritechnica in even years. According to DLG, 2,193 companies from 51 countries exhibited at the 2024 edition.
- LAMMA: the UK's farm machinery show, held every January at the NEC in Birmingham. Useful for overseas machinery and parts makers looking for British dealers, and for UK firms meeting them at home.
- SIMA: the Paris farm machinery show has been renamed AgriSima, and its organiser postponed the 2026 edition. Do not plan around it until a new date is confirmed.
- Growtech: a greenhouse, seed, young plant and agricultural technology fair at the ANFAS exhibition centre in Antalya, Turkey. Relevant for suppliers to protected cultivation.

Machinery, equipment, seed or fertiliser: who should you look for?
| You are | Companies to look for |
|---|---|
| Farm machinery maker | Dealers and distributors in your target country; manufacturers with a dealer network whose range yours complements |
| Parts or component supplier | Machinery manufacturers (OEMs) and dealers servicing widely used brands |
| Livestock equipment maker | Firms that build cattle and poultry housing, equipment dealers, distributors serving large integrated farms |
| Seed, plant or fertiliser producer | Regional distributors, firms supplying farm cooperatives, greenhouse and irrigation contractors |
| Greenhouse or irrigation firm | Seed and young plant producers, greenhouse contractors and distributors |
When choosing a machinery dealer, service capacity matters as much as price: a machine that stops in the middle of the season costs the farmer a harvest. Be specific about parts and service support in your first message.
Why does seasonality matter at agriculture fairs?
In farming, the field sets the calendar. As the examples above show, most large European fairs fall between November and February, outside drilling and harvest. This is when dealers review new products and plan the next season.
- Machinery and equipment: hold talks in fair week and finish quotes and demonstration machines before spring work starts.
- Seed and fertiliser: sowing dates vary by crop and region, and seasons are reversed between the northern and southern hemispheres. Write to the target country's calendar.
- Livestock: the seasonal effect is weaker and investment decisions depend more on feed and milk prices; housing projects take a long time, so keep following up for months.
These notes are practical observations, not measured figures.
How do you use the list around the fair dates?
- Six to eight weeks ahead: split the list into machinery, equipment, seed and fertiliser, then pick 30 to 80 firms from the group that fits you.
- Four to five weeks ahead: send a short introduction and ask for a stand meeting. See our meeting request email templates.
- Fair week: bring catalogues, dealer terms and a service plan; dealers ask first about territory and parts stock.
- After the fair: get back to interested firms within a week. See trade fair follow-up.
These time frames are rough practical guidance, not measured figures.
In Expomatik the list is opened in your account; campaigns go to each company's general address, results are tracked by replies and opens are not measured. Why visitor lists, such as farmers and dealers walking the halls, are not shared is covered in trade fair visitor lists.
What does a short, honest first message look like?
Subject: Dealer partnership for grassland equipment in your region
Hello, we would be grateful if you could pass this to your sales or purchasing manager.
We are a manufacturer in Northern Ireland making grassland harrows and slurry equipment, with spare parts held in stock. We are looking for a dealer in your region and would like to meet at the fair; we can share our catalogue and dealer terms.
If this is not relevant, a short reply is enough and we will not write again.
The company and products in the example are illustrative.
Which rules apply before you email exhibitors?
In the UK, PECR does not require prior consent for marketing emails to corporate subscribers, but you must identify yourself and offer an opt-out; sole traders count as individuals, which matters in farming, where many dealers and contractors are sole traders or partnerships. Recipients abroad fall under their own country's rules, and Germany requires prior consent even for companies. See Is It Legal to Email Trade Fair Exhibitors? This article is general information, not legal advice.

Frequently asked questions
- Are farmers in an agriculture fair exhibitor list?
- Generally not. Farmers visit these fairs; the exhibitors are machinery, equipment, seed, fertiliser and service companies. For a manufacturer who wants to reach farmers, the real targets in the list are dealers and distributors in each country.
- What is the difference between EuroTier and Agritechnica?
- Both are run by DLG in Hanover every two years. EuroTier covers livestock farming (housing, milking, feeding, poultry and pig production), Agritechnica covers agricultural machinery. They alternate: EuroTier in even years, Agritechnica in odd years.
- When should a machinery maker contact the list?
- Most large European agriculture fairs fall between November and February, when field work is quiet. Start preparing six to eight weeks before the fair and aim to finish dealer talks before the spring drilling season.
- Where can I see the price of a list?
- The price is shown in your account before you open the list. Plans and sending fees are on the Pricing page.
