An energy trade fair exhibitor list brings together makers of solar modules, inverters, energy storage and grid equipment, along with distributors and EPC contractors. To find customers, first place yourself: manufacturers look for distributors and EPC firms, component suppliers for manufacturers, and installers for reliable suppliers. The list opens all three relationships.
Who exhibits at energy trade fairs?
- Manufacturer
- Solar modules, inverters, batteries, mounting systems, cables and switchgear.
- Distributor
- Wholesalers that stock several brands in a country or region and sell to installers.
- EPC
- Engineering, procurement and construction: the contractor that builds a plant turnkey and selects the equipment.
- Installer
- Firms fitting rooftop and small systems. Mostly visitors at large fairs.
- Software and services
- Monitoring, energy management, testing and certification, finance and insurance.
Which energy trade fairs stand out?
- Intersolar Europe: the annual solar fair at Messe München. It runs under The smarter E Europe alongside fairs for energy storage, grids and e-mobility; it is organised by Solar Promotion GmbH and FWTM, and Solar Promotion also holds events in the USA, Mexico, Brazil, India and Dubai.
- RE+: organised every year by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), described by its organisers as the most comprehensive clean energy event in North America. It combines Solar Power International, Energy Storage International and other shows.
Regional fairs matter too: solar and energy fairs in Türkiye, the Middle East and South-East Asia are often the first stop for manufacturers looking for distributors in those markets. Fairs whose next edition is in our directory appear in the table below.

EPC, installer or distributor: who should you look for?
| You are | Companies to look for |
|---|---|
| Module, inverter or battery maker | Distributors and EPC contractors in your target country |
| Mounting, cable or switchgear supplier | EPC contractors and system makers that use your product |
| Distributor or wholesaler | Manufacturers looking for representation in your region |
| Engineering, testing or monitoring service | Manufacturers entering a new market and EPC firms developing projects |
Manufacturers looking for distributors in new markets are common at energy fairs. If you are a distributor or installation company, that works in your favour: you write to the manufacturer offering something it is already looking for.
How do you use the list around the fair dates?
- Six to eight weeks ahead: split the list into manufacturers, distributors and EPC firms, then choose 30 to 80 targets by product and country.
- Four to five weeks ahead: send a short introduction and a meeting request; see our meeting request email templates.
- Fair week: bring certificates and data sheets; in energy projects the first questions are usually about certification, lead times and stock.
- After the fair: send quotes to firms with live projects and a brief follow-up to the rest. Our exhibitor list guide compares where lists come from.
These time frames are rough practical guidance, not measured figures.
In Expomatik the list is opened in your account; campaigns go to each company's general address, results are tracked by replies and opens are not measured.
What does a short, honest first message look like?
Subject: Distribution of your inverters in the UK and Ireland
Hello, we would be grateful if you could pass this to your international sales team.
We are a solar wholesaler in the Midlands, supplying modules and mounting kits to installers from two warehouses. We would like to add an inverter brand to our range. Would you have time for a short meeting at your stand during the fair?
If this is not relevant, a short reply is enough and we will not write again.
The company and details in the example are illustrative.
Which rules apply before you email exhibitors?
In the UK, PECR does not require prior consent for marketing emails to corporate subscribers, but you must identify yourself and offer an opt-out; sole traders count as individuals. Recipients abroad fall under their own country's rules, and Germany requires prior consent even for companies. See Is It Legal to Email Trade Fair Exhibitors? This article is general information, not legal advice.

Frequently asked questions
- Who is in an energy trade fair exhibitor list?
- Makers of solar modules, inverters, batteries and mounting systems, distributors, EPC contractors and companies offering monitoring software and services. Small installers mostly attend as visitors.
- What is an EPC contractor and why target one?

- Whose addresses are in the list?
- Expomatik lists hold each company's general business address. Your message reaches the company and asks for it to be passed to the right department; named individuals are not targeted.
- Where can I see the price of a list?
